about the site
carbon.skin is in equal parts a library, an altar, and sanctuary -- all in the name of obscenity, taboo, and a touch of good old-fashioned fun.
in an age where the fascist boot grinds its heel down ever harder, where privacy is laughable, and our screen-space is dominated by corporate consumerist crap -- this place exists.
fuck your censorship, your surveillance, and your AI. long live the web of old.
about the webmaster
something to the left of human.
i`m not a people-person; this meaning is twofold. one: i don`t like people. it`s nothing personal. two: while i am in possession of `personhood`, i do not exactly equate it with humanity.
much of the human experience has remained enigmatic to me for the majority of, if not the entirety of my life. i`ve gotten good at pretending, although that`s mostly for other peoples` comfort.
in another time and place i was a software engineer; web application development and cybersecurity were my main areas of focus. i also did research on the socio-technical impacts of artificial intelligence in the fields of medicine and law enforcement.
i am very outspoken against AI. much of what we see - generative AI systems built on exploting other peoples` work - has no place here.
